Description

Though I'm really looking forward to the Spring, I made this autumn impression: A rainy day in the forest, a heavy shower has just passed, only a few drops are still falling... Again, this is quite similar to a scene I made some time ago with Vue 4, now the new possibilties with Vue 5 Infinite called for another "go" of this imaginary place :) (But, I'm still not completely satisfied with the outcome, mainly the lighting presented some problems, as I was going for an overcast, not-so-contrasted look. Global ambience, which I used, isn't good enough, I think. Global Illumination (and Radiosity, of course) may do the trick, but the rendertime will skyrocket. Well, maybe I'll give it a try...) The ususal toolbox: V5I, Onyxtree, Bantam3D "Grass". All objects and textures by me. Some tweaking with the levels and colours in Photoshop. Originally I had added a few "raindrops" on the "camera lens", it was a fun effect, but I decided to ...ehrr drop them :) Some 700 mio polys, rendered in 3 hrs. in "Broadcast", 1600x1200 original render. - Hope you like this, thanks for comments etc. on the last ones, comments on this one are very welcome and much appreciated. Have nice day - Lars

I love the vegetation and the composition is perfect but I agree with you on the lighting problems; it would be interesting to give it a GI/GR (overnight) render in a smaller format especially now when you work in Vue inf. :-) - nevertheless it's a lovely pic!

I agree that the composition is perfect. The vegetation is just amazing! The lighting gives it more of a painted look than your usual. Like I can almost see the canvas texture. :-)
