Description
The Messerschmitt 109 'Gustav'shown above was probably the outstanding German fighter of the
last war. Not because it was much better than the opposition, but because there were so many of them.
Over 34,000 were produced and some top pilots amassed literally hundreds of kills using this relatively simple but highly developed fighter design.
In the picture above I have tried to millustrate one such incident.

Vue's 109 model (modified a bit. Mine is the
ME bf109G14 - no tail struts).

Indeed, the ME109 was one of the very few aircraft (of any air force) which saw continual frontline service from the beginning of hostilities through VE-Day. This is a brilliant render -- my only suggestion would be to try to simulate the rotational motion of the spinner; IMHO, that is the only thing which gives this away as a flat (painted) image. In all other respects, it could be a photograph! My Vote

There is lots of drama in the image. It looks like one of the sequences of a story-board. It is an intense dramatic image. The technique is excellent.

This is a brilliant example of some very fine 3d and paint work. You have done a magnificent job and, like tracker234 says, "you have captured the drama of the moment." MY HUGE VOTE

Awesome as always. Terrific action detail. What is the armament on that model? If I am not misteken there were a few with 20MM. It would be wonderful to own one for sport & recreatioinal flying but I wonder how many survived ... Thanks again for sharing detail & history. Dwayne

No complaints. ;-) Your realization is just perfect. You could do a poster of it and title it "The Luftwaffe wants you as a hero" or somewhat.

What to add ? Ok, the choice of a menacing sky is a nice touch ! Probably very frequent where those birds were flying

An amazing quality image! I like the detail of the pilot too - he gives a real sense of proportion to the aircraft! Well done!!!
