"Heaven be praised for solitude. Let me be alone.
Let me cast and throw away this veil of being, this cloud that changes with the least breath night and day, and all night and all day."
Woolf, Virginia 'The Waves'
Actually, this was just the original idea... but I am struggling to break free!

A deeply poignant tribute Rodica. You know you're in my thoughts and in my heart. I am proud to call you my talented friend, and you know your mother was proudest of her daughter. I know she will continue to be. Have peace dear heart. ~Jay

What a poignant strong and sensitive painting! Perhaps painted in unconscious anticipation of this sad event. From the wonderfully evocative spirit of this painting I'm certain the bonds of love you felt for your mother far surpassed any arguments. I'm so sorry to read of your loss. Your mother raised a daughter of whom, I'm sure, she was very proud and loved very much. My thoughts are with you and your departed mother.

This is an amazing picture, and a moving tribute, Rodica. You have a wonderful talent, your work makes the viewer stop and think, and re-evaluate and refine their own perceptions of 'reality'. This is a wonderful gift that you use so well, and one that from what you have said, I feel that you must have inherited from your beloved Mother. She must have been so proud of you, and all you have achieved. You have my deepest sympathies and condolences at this difficult time. Remember the laughter and the good times you shared.

Dear Rodica, Sorry I missed this. My deepest sympathy. How can I read your painting? The two profiles seem to mirror two worlds, the material and the eternal. Turning it upside-down we pass from one to the other. Do take care of yourself. Life is still beautiful...
