Description

...an impression of a beech forest in May in my country, where the "wild garlic" may be locally abundant. When blooming they are an impressive sight, uniform in apperance and in large numbers. (As a herb, in the kitchen, the plant is delicius, if you like a mild garlic taste). Vue5I, Onyxtree, Bantam3D "Grass", XFrog, and Photoshop (mainly for colour/levels correction). Except for the blue "Forget-Me-Nots" from Toucan, all the objects and texures are my work, the "Wild Garlic" flowers are modelled from scratch in XFrog. 1.600 mio polys, rendered in a little more than 7 hrs. in "Broadcast" mode with Global Illumination. Thanks for viewing, hope you like this. Comments etc. more than welcome and very much appreciated. Have a nice weekend - Lars

Lars, your work is prolific and of such painstaking, detailed craftsmanship and excellence that it lies outside of and beyond the rating system. I could comment on more than half of your gallery, but then I wouldn't get to work, dinner nor sleep ; ) Thanks for your tireless work and inspiration to us all. Marco

A very realistic image, Lars. Lighting, and render time, are real 'killers' but you have struck the right balance. Your composition is very well thought out. Mine, by comparison, is just learning. I am sure we would all want to walk through this glade. It looks so peaceful ( and considering high winds and gusty rain, much drier and desirable than Glasgow - the Green Place ;o) ). 5 stars, without question, my friend. Regards, John.

Well by the amount of positive comments on this image I'd say you've out done yourself Lars. I don't recall ever seeing wild garlic growing in the wild but it sure looks amazing here. Great work displaying this and even more in your abilities in creating a lot of what you show us.
