Description

This is a macro capture of the same lichen as yesterday's, the lesser sulphur-cup (Cladonia deformis) with red apothecia (fruiting bodies; yesterday I wrote, blooming caps but that's something different, sorry about that) on top of the cups. What the??? What is that? It looks like that lichen breeded with a buch of lingonberries, lol. It really looks awesome with that oh so red against that subtle green/grey lichen. Wonderful find and macro. Have a great one! #:O)

A very interesting image of a very unusual plant. I have looked at a lot of lichens but I have never seen anything with these fruiting bodies before. The red does stand out indeed and you captured it with style.
