Description
All the modeling in this scene is NURBS based.
90% of the texturing is also procedural.
Render time: around 7 hours. Not because it uses radiosity but because of all the reflective/transparent surfaces and the Best anti-aliasing used.
The depth of field blur was made in AfterEffects.

Cool Rui! .. another good piece. I like the metal texture and the DOF effect - however I thought the spec highlight is a little large. cool stuff :)

damn good modelling, very nice texturing, looks almost real

Yeah... maybe the highlight is a bit large... but lets imagine it is from a large flood lamp ;-) I may re-render it using multipass in order to do some experiments with it.

Nice image rui. It looks like it could be used as a product shot, but if that is your intention then you should realize that a professional cameraman would probably have rearranged the lighting so that the light didn't reflect in the glass (the highlight). Instead he would try to highlight the metal to emphasize it's quality. The noise we see in the reflection looks a little messy too.

Great detail, really looks good!

You are right MV. I should have avoid it, but what can I say? I like highlights ;-) The noise is a bug in aliasing I believe. It was produced by a high-high-high density tiles shader of SLA. I may try to re-render it with a not so high setup.
