Description

Westbury Gardens,Long Island,New York "Now folds the lily all her sweetness up, And slips into the bosom of the lake; So fold thyself, my dearest, thou, and slip Into my bosom, and be lost in me." - Lord Alfred Tennyson ***** Hi!I think I have spent almost an entire day going back and forth between this cropped image and the 'full' version.I couldn't make up my mind. But then,I couldn't decide whether to include the text in this one either, lol. So I did the ol' eenie meenie miny mo...and this one got picked, for better or worse. What do you think?Did I mess it up by adding the text?I'd really like to know.I'm so woefully bad at it.LOL. Anyway,if I keep stalling and nit-picking I will never ever reach 100!So,here's...ugh... 97 for ya! ***** Thanks for looking and any comments you may care to leave. They mean a lot to me! Hugs to you all and hope you have a wonderful weekend. Marlene ;^)

Takes my breath away! I can never seem to find them open and above water, and I like in a state full of them! Great crop and a gorgeous image Marlene -- and lovely thoughts to go along with it. ...and you are one image closer to 100! ;^P

I like very much that one and this interesting texture. I like too your composition with the color and a little saturation... The tittle (with this elegant fonts) here is good, i feel the romantic, simplicity but with a lot style. If you adding this beautiful text, it's necesary to quit this tittle in your photo, or change the presentation of tittle ;) I like this work, it's true and for a one time, it's a very interesting shot with these colors, lighting, tezture and this contrast ;) Well done Pretty!! I hope a very good day and kiss...

This is exquisite!! An instant favorite!! I love the contrast of the blues on the reflective part of the waters surface!! I love the mercury like texture of the water contrasted against the flat green of the pads!! And punctuated by that wonderful, colorful flower!!! Simply scrumptious!!! Big Vote

Strange... I love the background so much, that I almost want to cry to that flower 'Get out of the way, you're blocking my view!' ;-) Well, I almost never comment on flower shots (bad habit of mine?), so I hope you'll forgive me, now that you know that ;O) I was really attracted by the graphical quality of the leaves in the water... I'll just skip the flower LOL

I didn't see the whole image, but the cropped image I would think puts more emphasis on the flower. which by the way is very well captured ..and the whole presentation is perfect. I do like seeing photos framed and titled when it's done right and Girl..you done did do it right...lol..BTW...Westbury is right next to Hicksville where I grew up...I know..big deal =(

I don't think the text is bad at all. If this was my work and if there was nothing there, I will have thought that it was too simple. The light gray text is very well balanced on this image. And I think this white frame is best. I think this colors of peach and moss green, deep blue are wonderful combination. And excellent mood!! :D

A quite alluring piece of artwork, it has the ability to draw you into to it's magic, and that's an excellent talent in and of itself. Beyond that, your post work has been well worth the effort, for it has become a true masterpiece!! I would proudly hang this on any wall in my home. and I'm quite picky you know, LOL! ! ! ! ! ~ Love it ~ ! ! ! ! ! ! !

It is so beautiful Marlene...in so many ways! It is very textured and such a variety of color... and it's complicated, intricate.. much like you I think! :-) Beautiful work as always my friend and I love the text on the bottom. It would certainly make an awesome notecard. V

Absolutely delightful image and I love the text (as well as Alfred); although I must confess a great fondness for Keats - "When I have dreams that I may cease to be" ... :-) Superbly done dear lady!

For an online gallery presentation this is very good. I have always liked font on the bottom.Though I slowed down doing it. Your comp is mahvelous. On thing I really like is how the clouds reflect, but have the edges still in blue around lillie pads. Nice time of day for the shot. Have a great eve!!!
