Description

....ugh!.......sweat..............98!..............pant pant......lol ;^) okay Some stupid useless trivia I discovered: ____________________________________________________________________________ 1.The cigarette lighter was invented before the match. 2.More than 50% of the people in the world have never made or received a telephone call. 3.A "jiffy" is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second. 4.Apples, not caffeine, are more efficient at waking you up in the morning. 5.Marilyn Monroe had six toes. 6.A snail can sleep for three years. 7.Butterflies taste with their feet. 8.A duck's quack doesn't echo anywhere, and no one knows why. 9.Donkeys kill more people annually than plane crashes. and... 10.Turtles can breathe through their butts. ****** Hi folks.Just some useless trivia I found when scouring the net for non-existent heron quotes, lol.I didn't know these things,so I guessed some of you might not know them, either. Now you can delight your friends and family with your brand new info!I mean, who knew turtles could breathe that way?Wow.Gives new meaning to bad breath, lol. By the way, that's what I think this guy is,a heron...although I wouldn't put money on it.I'm no ornithologist,I assure you. The shot was taken at Morikami gardens in Florida. The water was quite brown and murky,so I had to darken it.What a difference that made.A year ago,I didn't know how to do that, and I almost scrapped the shot.Guess it's good to be a packrat, occasionally.I can't seem to scrap any pictures unless they're blurry.Anyway,I think it came out okay,so I thought I'd share it with you.Hope you like it,too. Thanks for looking and for any comments you care to leave.I always appreciate them. Have a wonderful day/evening/night's sleep! Hugs, Marlene :^) Sorry I 'havered' so much, lol. ;^D

I laughed when I saw your title above the thumb. Cool picture, and I believe you on this one... Still two to go, and what happens then? Remember the closer you get to the point you fixed on the horizon, the further the horizon seems to get away from you and the point you'll eventually reach...

WooW Marlene! This is a very cool looking shot! I like a compo, a rock in a middle of a water separets a background from a front. A bird has a very elegant pose! Well well done!

LOL - great line in trivia ! - Super image too, you have done a good job on the water very effective and it is a good capture of the main subject the bird. Looks like someones ornamental fish are about to become lunch :)

Awww a heron indeed!! Excellent catch! Herons symbolize balance and have the ability to focus on a single subject for what seems like hours without moving. I'm surprised he's not going after those koi, they look pretty good sized!! I knew a few of those trivia's but I had no idea about the turtle!!! LOL!!!!! Beautiful image Marlene, you've captured the essence of this heron, with a wonderful sense of balance!!!!

Well miss NYH, I believe that's a great blue heron. they're pretty common in Florida. As a matter of fact, I'm heading to Florida this weekend to see my wife's mother. I hope to get a lot of pics. Soryy for the ramble here..great pic and postwork...would you believe I typed all this in a jiffy???? Would you believe 1,000,000 jiffies...lol..

LOL at rayburg's jiffies and at your trivia Marlene! Poor Marilyn...6 toes! Wonder what happened to the other 4? (giggles) A very clever title for this beautiful bird Marlene. This is my DREAM picture and I am so, so envious! LOL You would not believe how many pictures I've taken of a similar heron near here ... TONS!! And none of them have come out right yet! And he's not as large and stately as the one you found. It's a wonderful shot ...love the way you darkened the water and that reflection is awesome!!! VOTE for the picture, the trivia, your frame and your perfect title! :-) (((Hugs)))

As soon as I catch my breath and pick my breathing end up off the floor I would like to write that this is a magnificent image wonderfully salvaged with considerable skill! I also suspect that shortly after you left the pond was bereft of Koi :-) Superb everything dear lady!

Carps' positions are very interesting in composition and their oranges are so beautiful. They shine more in deep green of water. Unique composition!! :0)

Hehehe, nice! I was going to say that this reminded me of the Morikami Gardens! Nice shot there Marlene. I wish I had one like this in my collection of "someday to be presented as a series" Morikami photos, but alas, I do not. I guess I need to head back over there and pratice my heron calls. Wonderful! ...and now I know why turtle breath smells so bad...
