Thank you for all the comments and views on the Barbary Lion and The yawning lioness
It seems while he only has eyes for her, she only has eyes for me. It is obvious that lions have NO respect for crashers at their party. This ended in a very cautious retreat - for me, because this is typical stalking behaviour. I had to get some dry slacks, and I want to stress that no animals had been hurt in this photo shoot, LOL!
The lioness is a bit out of focus but now you know why.

I know how that is - when they make eye contact its definately time to move on. I bet you aren't so blase about lions now :) Yes, she's a bit out of focus (with good reason), but this is still a cool photo.

I went to our local zoo this morning to see the new gorilla habitat and the heat forced me to leave before I ever got to the lions. before reading your text, I had the idea that she was sizing you up for dinner.good you got away. I hope you was using a telephoto for this.excellent capture by any means
