Description

Ultrafractal 4.03 "...stare ya blind with my confidence - cool as Jesus and His twelve best friends..." A neat lyric from my all-time favorite song, "So Gently We Go", by a band called I Mother Earth from Canada. Since there are 3 groups of 4 major squares in the spiral (ok forget the tiny ones...) I thought that would be a cool symbol of the 12 disciples emerging from a cross to spread the good news. Yeah, more of my texture explorations. Been trying to get a painted look for a while, now. Eventually I'll get it right. Maybe this is closer? Unfortunately, I Mother Earth's singer - dude calls himself Edwin - got too big for his britches and went solo so now both the band and Edwin have gone nowhere. I didn't particularly like their new singer and Jag went and changed the sound of his guitars and I wasn't very happy with their last album, Blue, Green, Orange. Thanks for stopping by, y'all! Looks like you're getting a handle on those textures Rick. Nice abstract cross. Like the contrast of the pastel shades against the darker background. I remember a band from the 60's with a female singer, Tracy Nelson, which was called Mother Earth. They were great. Haven't heard of this Canadian group.

Your background does look like painted canvas, I really like it. Also the gray-pink colour combination, it's very gentle and pleasing. As for you technique... you know!

Exciting, and yes, the painterly effect is definitely there, especially in the background and the stem of the cross. It is a lovely and poignant image.
