Description

The Columbia Riverboat Pilots meet the ships after they enter the Columbia River and travel with them to Portland, Oregon (about 90 miles.) They await the loading of the ships and then return with them handing them over to the Bar Pilot boats which then guide them over the bar and back into the Pacific Ocean.
