Dear Claudia, you mentioned Trajan Column in Rome. That monument has been built as a celebration of winning the war against Dacians (the ancestors of the Romanian people). After this fight the Romans conquered Dacia and from their soldiers and the Dacians women the Romanians appeared in a few centuries. The difference between these two columns is that the first one is covered with carved reliefs, not painted and has a statue on the top. At the beginning was Trajans statue, but it has been changed in 1587 with St. Peters one. Thanks for sharing this picture. I promise Ill shoot the Trajan Column at my first trip to Rome.

The information was gathered from the sign at the bottom of the column, forgive if the information was incorrect. Thank you very much for the correction and the time taken to add information. HUGS!!

Great capture of that historic monument! Unique spiraling mural concept. Good contrast of the column against the of the background of the trees and sky. Also, the people help give it a sense of proportion, although the doorways alone would have served that purpose. And, I like your frame! Hugs and all!

Great shot! When we stopped by it was all foggy. Could barely see the top. Still an impressive monument and view... fog wasn't down in the valley.
