Description

"Enlighten the people generally, and tyranny and oppressions of body and mind will vanish like evil spirits at the dawn of day." ~ Thomas Jefferson

Here is another early morning photo taken from behind my house. As you may have heard, tropical storm Ernesto did not turn out to be much of a storm, though we still have bands of wind and rain passing over the area until this evening. I had wished for a little more of a storm so I could stay home from work with my family today, but I suppose it is a good thing not to be slammed with a hurricane. Even after I took the time to put up my hurricane shutters. Oh well, it was good practice for the next time. ----- Thank you for your venusian comments on my last upload, The Calm .... Happy Hump Day everyone!

Really beautiful sky shot. Ernesto is just passing over me about now....not even as much rain as we had hoped for-better than a nasty hurricane though.

Beautiful sunrise, Kort -- I live for cloudscapes like this one! Glad Ernesto turned out to be a paper tiger... now you can take those shutters off again. ;]

No point repeating the obvious here, but I will anyway -- stunning and a clasic. Also liked the spirit as reflected by the Jefferson quotation, so here's some verbal artistic payback both for your art and your attitudes. Hey, words are art too :) ____ "Any fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction." ~ Albert Einstein "Where ordinary intercourse is effortful, angelic cultivation is calm, relaxed, quiet and natural." ~ Lao Tzu "Love is profound interest." ~ S. Gitananda "I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live up to what light I have." ~ Abraham Lincoln "Moralities, ethics, laws, customs, beliefs, doctrines - these are of trifling import. All that matters is that the miraculous become the norm." ~ Henry Miller "There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; my philosophy is kindness." ~ The Dalai Lama ____ Last but not least and depending on how things go, I may contact you for permission to use this image in a video/short film project in due time. No pay, just credits (I'm a "developing" artist on tight budget, not a corporation :)
