Description

Hello all!! I still have lots of pics from my Michigan trip, wildlife and sunsets etc - but for some reason this one calls to me, so I am putting it up!.. lol cannot expain why I like this here, but I do. Maybe it's the colors. When I shot all the water lilies, * (see gallery) there was a side of the lake where all the sludge built up. An old Chinese woman told me the murkier the water the prettier lotus flowers. Why is that I wondered? How is it possible? I walked over and looked at the sludge build up and saw these turning discarded leaves and a sandal that was floating there. Couldn't help but think how you can find beauty even in the tossed aside discarded things in life. I feel deep down that the artists who have gone through the most pain and hurt for some reason, paint the most beautiful soul-reaching pictures... How do those HUGE liles bloom in such murky water I wonder? Maybe they are so happy to get out of that downtown LA murky water that they bloom like nowhere else on the planet. I have been told they are the prettiest in the world in that dirty LA pond. Here is the side the lily pond that no one takes pictures of - I found beauty in it- the discarded - and thought I would share it with you here today! ( taken with my nikon 7900 pocket cam - not photomanipulated just a slight bit of smudging to help draw it out - only slightly saturated. They were strong colors from whatever was in that downtown murky pond lol) Thank you for all your time and comments !' Love to you all! ((( BIG HUGS )))! ~ &hearts: Kimmers ! :O)

I like this too sis... I like you have always heard beauty can be found in places you never thought to look...It does draw you into it doesn't it???? This is going to my favs... Had to go to ER tonight had a migraine for 2 days my blood pressure was way high and went to Dr Wed....I now weigh 115 haven't saw that in over a year...got down to 103 when we chatted on the phone..I feel good but I just hurt all the time...and he did fuss at me for not making my appt with the Oncologist...He says I should take it in case my cancer comes back..But this is 4 times I have had cancer and taken the chemo each time...I don't put much faith in it why else would my cancer come back if I took all the preventive measures 4 times sis....Oh well enough about me... This is perfect and I love it.... Thank you for finding us the most unusual and treasured things to view... Hugs n love Your sis Susan~

oooh...I really like this photo Kim!! I think it's very artistically composed. That discarded sandal speaks volumes as it sits there floating amongst the beauty of nature. I think the focus, the color and the crop is just perfect!! Outstanding image!!! :-) PS: Your words touched me.

This reminds me of a flip flop that Ken and I use to look for. It was under one of the briges we cross in the park. But then the heavy rains came and washed it away.... oh how sad. Great shot.

Kim, you seem to be the only person who can make a sandal into a work of art. Your playing with colors is just incredible.

Nature always gets the colors just right ... and so do you. The sandal is the perfect element A vibrant photo and so wonderful how you find beauty in the most unique places. You look for the good in everything and the reward is ... you find it. :o) CC

Wow, this really is beautiful. You can find the most beautiful things in the most unlikely places. And what you say is true. Guess it is because of all the experiences the artists have been through. Aloha

This is really a FABULOUS image. The colors and the contrast of flowers and the flip flop make it quite a surreal image. I am so glad you chose this one to post. It is so wonderfully unique and beautiful. I LOVE IT !!!!
