Description
Note: This is an Alphabet Poem.
Each line begins with the next letter of the alphabet, A - Z
As the purple night shadows fall
Behind the rustic garden wall,
Calla lilies blossomed bright
Dressed in their simple green and white.
Evening song the birds are singing,
Farewell, to the end of day sun.
Gracious lady, stops and ponders,
How quickly the years move on.
Images of her loved ones,
Jig-saw faces, every one.
Kaleidoscope of memories they bring,
Love lost feelings to the fore.
Mid this tranquil garden setting
No one see's the teardrops fall,
On the Headstones, four in all.
Phantom figures, now lie beneath
Quiet in their eternal sleep.
Reminiscing upon days gone by,
Sadly wipes tears from her eyes.
Together, all four were taken
Under waves, white crested, high.
Voiceless souls, they cried out in anguish
Water filled lungs, they drowned, and died.
Xebec, breached and foundered,
Youth or aged, none were spared.
Zealous Neptune, claimed them all.

Wonderful, and beautiful. It's a heartbreaking tale but beautiful. Thanks for sharing. BJ

Very well constructed poem. Was "X" the most difficult letter? Had to look that one up.
