I started Brycing in November of 2003 after being introduced to it through the owner of www.mulawa.net, Peter Hewitt. He created a set of tutorials and sent a group of us a book called Advanced Bryce Creations. His generoisity has led to many hours of joy for me as I create the images you will see in my gallery.
I was able to start Brycing because I no longer worked as a CAD drafter at the local foundry which lost most of its business to overseas businesses. My husband supports me for the time being but says when he retires, I get to go back to work so we have health insurance. We will see :D
Stats: Female, married, no children, brown hair, hazel eyes, glasses, drink Bacardi Limon and diet Pepsi(have since given this up...I still miss it, lol), love to golf, camp, play PC games and Bryce. I used to love to tend my garden so that's where my nick came from...Burpee Seeds.
Boring? Maybe but I'm happy :)

This is much darker here than on my monitor while I was making it. Wonder if it looks too dark to peeps?

Nah not too dark, just right for Frank ! congrats Nancy, I like the dude in the window...very mysterious indeed, I'm reminded of Arnie's movie Conan, where he slice'n'dices a rather large snake, just like this sucker ! BRAVO & Cheers

Fantastic work and I love the texturing on the snake. I'm steering away from bryce myself and concentrating on Maya but I'm sure I will always go back to Bryce now and then. I'm sure we will see many designs being produced from Vue5Esprit on your gallery in the near future. The image looks fine on my screen. Keep up the great work.

excellent image

Maybe a little dark in mine, but looks great... it has a superb atmo ! Very well done !

It is a little dark Nancy' but it seems to add to the mystery and atmosphere. Congrats on winning'This is a fabulous image' love that creepy guy near the door and the sky is very menacing.......Difficult to leave Bryce behind' I was attracted to the lighting in C4d but i will always feel that Bryce is my first choice...........you could still learn Vue and keep Bryce around' it wouldnt be the same Nancy without the Bryce postings' You are still the best around' its plain to see.......Excellent work 5+
Digimon
Hey!! You stole my idea!! LOL! ; ) Just kiding!! Though my first planned comic page with Pansy is going to be a battle with a giant snake! I guess great minds think alike!! This is fantastic!!!! You really did imbue this image with the essence of Frazetta!!! The pose, the dramtic lighting, and palette!! This should have won, imho!!

Excellent composition and atmosphere. It really looks a bit dark but it really doesn't matter because there's no naked women there. 8-) That must be the mother of all snakes. It doesn't look like the hero stands a chance there. I suppose he won't mind being eaten after the snake has passed between his legs and he must have his legs and ass very sore from the snake's scales. 8-) Fantastic job. It deserved to win. I have Vue but can't leave Bryce.

Congrats Nancy, when I first saw Neanderthal I didn't figure it could be topped. This is a little Dark, but not enough to Detract from the Remarkable Atmosphere and Imagery. Absolutely Top Notch Work. & Peace

Congratulations on the win, that was an awesome graphic. This is also way up at the tip top! I do not find it too dark, makes it more sinister! The lighting is so dramatic, many things are in the darkness of the mind, and minimal illumination is so dramatic! I think it's sort of like partial clothing vs. complete nudity, of course it is in the eye of the beholder, though I find the former to be more seductive[lol]! The imagination and tendencey of the human mind to go for closure, that does this for us. ok, off the box(grabs snacks thrown at him, and departs for a less frequented neighborhood). -=FAV=-

Great fantasy scene! Fantastic lighting and texturing here. Congratulations on your contest win! I left Bryce for Cinema 4D, but I so missed the modeling challenges of Bryce that I've gone back for my current spaceship project. So far it's about 95% Bryce with a few elements done in C4D. So I guess if one leaves Bryce, there's nothing preventing you from coming back for a visit now and then!

Not too dark at all!! Congrats on the contest! Well deserved too!! I love the image in the background. Gives a real eerie effect. So is the snake smiling for the camera or is that a hungry mans meal waiting for him? .LOL! Superb work Nancy. Really.....superb! :) ((hug))
Forevernyt
I was thinking about attempting this very image myself, but decided not to, good thing. Yours came out much better than mine ever would. Congrats on the win!

This reminds me a bit of a scene from Anaconda starring Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, and Jon Voight. Well done Nancy. BTW when I just got started with Bryce, I had a taste of Vue Esprit. I'm stickin' with Vue. No comparison IMHO. Excellent work!!! *****

Very cool work and composition..bravo!!!:o)

I think the lighting is excellent. WOW! What detail and action! Any moment now are hero is going to snap those chains and take on that serpent hand-to-jaw. Rather remanicent of Conan The Barbarian.

Great scene! I wish I had heard about the contest as I have a couple of Farzetta inspired images I haven't had time to finish, would have been a fun contest to enter. (I have a few Frank inspired in my gallery now too!) Congrats on the win. I hope you go for VUE 6 Infinite it sounds like it is going to be incredible. As for dumping Bryce I don't see why you would, I still use Bryce 5.5 for different types of images, but I do love the ecosytems in Infinite. Just look at it as now you have another tool in your 3D workshop AND KEEP ON CREATING THSE GREAT IMAGES!

COOL WELL DONE :)

WOW!! Fabulous! This is a SUPER rendition of the Frazetta! Yeah, its a bit darkish, but that just gives it more atmosphere. Leaving Bryce behind? Well, I've been messing with Lightwave; its modeller is extremely flexible and I like the renders I've seen with it. But Bryce is like being at home, all cozy and friendly. So it will always be a part of my arsenal. Extra great job here, Nancy. Congrats on winning with the N-boys! You deserve it.

Very nice! Leave Bryce, maybe, but I bet it won't be for long.

A lovely image. Well, I have just put Vue 5I on my computer so we can work on that together. At least now its easy to put DAZ Studio figures into Vue :)
matasabu
Congratulations!! I want to see your Vue work too. This is very nice composition of light and shade. From the near view to the distant view...shade,light,shade,light. And effective direction of the skeletons, a man of outside :)

Congratulations on the contest win Nancy. This is an excellent image. Wonderful atmosphere and the darker areas adds another dimension to the scene. Superb. Well done!
lemonjim
really super pic, Nancy! Great atmosphere and mood (great lighting makes it!). Congratulations on the prize - Hope you (a) enjoy and learn Vue and (b) tell us all about it.
skiwillgee
Congratulations, Nancy. This is a good one too, but I think you picked the correct one for the contest. If you move over to Vue remember us small peeps here. And remember it was a Bryce rendered image that won you the contest.
