Description

Yes this is a jellyfish. It is dead but do not step on it with your bare feet. it will hurt you. Some more that others type will hurt you. I know most people on the water fronts os the seas have seen these a 1000's times but I did not see one for a long time intill now. I love the purple color that is on the inside of this fish thanks for every thing

Beware! If you step on that jellyfish it'll swallow you up and you'll never be seen again. That's why there are so many missing person reports each year. Love the lighting and sand texture. Cool shot, Jocko!

Great shot and once again you have brought back memories of growing up in Galveston County. We always carried meat tenderizer in our beach bags just in case we stepped on one of these. Meat tenderizer takes the sting out. They were everywhere in the sand!

Excellent capture Jocko. Not a Portugese Man Of war but I reckon it could give you a nasty sting just the same. Another thing to steer clear of on the beach is the weaver fish..stand on those and you will have feet like baloons..I did and the pain was enough to make you bite the bullet Lol! Excellent work. well done!

I never seen one dead laying on the sand and luckily I never got stung by one. I was at Galveston with a former g.friend years ago and she got stung by one and because she was giving me a hard time about nothing, I wanted to tell her that I did not feel a thing, but I kept my mouth shut.good idea most of the time!!!

Great shot... love the ripples. We saw a 'man o war' on the beach, that's where I first learned to steer clear of these critters. And Happy Birthday to you!!!
