Description

He was the blonde guy in khakis, with a funny accent and crazy ideas. He was the daredevil jousting crocodiles, and an assortment of other wild (and dangerous) creatures. It was so easy not to take him seriously, because he himself spoke lightly and laughed off predicaments. But now that he's gone, we see how important and how serious Steve Irwin really was. He told us more about wildlife than ten stiff university lectors put together. He made us see that foul animal, the crocodile, as a MEMBER of Earth life - indeed with so much a right to live as ourselves. But we never realized that... We never stood aside and reckoned how much we learned form the Crocodile Hunter series, how more aware of our environment we became, how much ready to protect everything alive around us. And when he died we stopped short, shocked and dismayed. That man, young and strong like the god Balder of the Northern myths lloked like he'd never die of anything. There was so much life in him, we'd think it would last him for a century at least. But life is so fragile... And we only sum it up and see its true value when it is no more. Now people say what a learned naturalist Steve Irwin was... What a clever way of teaching us he had... How good he was at creating shis TV personna... Yet, when he was alive, he was "that crazy Aussie bloke that fights crocs - weird hobby, really"! Now, does one have to die to take them seriously? Apparently they do.... Or, at least, Steve did... But I never for a moment changed my opinion about him: he was a wonderful person and a great fighter for the preservation of the wildlife. In his own way, he did the Lord's good work, protecting all His creatures great and small. Good work, mate! You'll be deeply missed by us blokes down here. I'll reckon there is still one thing or two for you to do in Heaven.

As long as we continue his work he will live on in his teachings. He touched many lives world wide. He will be missed. Thanks for sharing. BJ

Steve Irwin was a one of a kind, there will never be another like him. He will be missed, his legacy will live on in the hearts of those whose hearts he touched. My thoughts turn to his wife and children, I can only imagine what they must be going through.
