------------- Demonologist
Demonology. Not so simple as just summoning and controlling demons, it is the full knowledge of demons and demon-kind. As such, every prospective Demonhunter should know at least as much about the subject as the average Necromancer. It should also be noted that while Necromancers are not primarily concerned with demons, they often make bargains with them or try to bind them to their service to further their vile aims. The interesting tendency for some demons to have undead traits, take the Abyssal Ghoul or the Shadow Demon for instance, further enhances this connection. But the primary weapon of Necromancers is their summoning and control of undead. Not what we are here to learn about.
Demons, outside of their own machinations and temptations, are the stock and trade of Demonologists. Those few bizarre, twisted, evil and often times, down right insane individuals, who not only dally with the forces of the Abyss, but prefer them to the light and beauty of the Gods,... these are Demonologists. Now, what we are talking about here is not a mage who has studied demonology. Taulloverre the White Wizard is certainly a leading authority in the subject, be he is no Demonologist. No, we are speaking of mages skilled, expert and focused in summoning, controlling, and consorting with demons and demon-kind.
Why would any mortal be so mad as to tempt certain death and eternal torment? Why indeed. They all have their own reasons, I'm sure. Power, wealth, lust, greed, revenge, hatred, foolishness. Why does any man or woman chose a path that all others know to be false and deadly? Because in some small way, in some glimmer of reason in a corner of their brains, they think they can get away with it. Its our job to make sure they don't.
