Thank you for all visits and comments on The sun's last painting for the day
The giraffe is well known in South Africa and this gentle giant was photographed near Leeudoringstad where I live. The quality of the photo is not good at all because of the direction of the sun, however capturing twin giraffe calves is very rare. Do you spot the difference in skin patterns of the calves? I know there are people here on Renderosity who love giraffes. I hope you enjoy the display.
I wish you all well for the week ahead!

Every since i was old enough to see over the seat in front of me I have been in love with Africa... Jungle Jim, Tarzan, Bomba the Jungle Boy, ... I'm one of them :) This is a great shot .. perfect as a matter of fact. All 3 are looking right at you; and I see no problem with the lighting. Now, I have a dumb question for you ... do these run wild over there? Or was this taken .. at a zoo? (Dont laugh now) ;)

I think you handled the lighting ok. I can tell the spot difference more on one baby than on the other I think.

Wonderful family portrait. Myself I like the side lighting, it highlites the giraffes outline so they stand out from the background. Such a exotic capture!!

Oh yes, I do see the difference between the two calves in this exquisite picture! Despite your misgivings, my friend, I think this is a great photograph. Bravissimo! BTW, giraffes have no vocal chords. And I shudder at the thought of a giraffe with a sore throat!

And now you have giraffes outside your back door. You live in an amazing place, Piet. The backlight actually enhances the graceful form of these beautiful beasts.
