Thanks for the comments and visits to the twin giraffes Tall double trouble:

The subtle play with capitals in the title of "Big ...C..." is to show support not only for those affected but also for those people trying to make a difference: visit this friend's forum thread.

These White Rhinos, (Ceratotherium simum) bull and cow (facing us) were photographed near where I live in Leeudoringstad (South Africa). The White Rhino is not named for the color of its skin but for the original Dutch word "wijd bek" (whide mouthed) rhinoceros. Another trait I share with them is poor eyesight. Ok, I quit the biology lesson, LOL! I hope you enjoy looking at the couple.

Ag nee, werk bietjie aan die kwaliteit van die foto ek kan nie eers die bosluise in die regter oorbak uitmaak nie. Met beter kwaliteit sal dit dalk makliker wees om te besluit of dit bontpote of gewone bosluise is. Nee man kry dit reg die volgende keer. Groete

Marvelous picture of the White Rhino, such a powerful yet interesting beast and so clumsy. Don't want them charging me, where's some of those Mexican bull fighters now, hey, LOL. Look's like you have been playing around with your new Digital SLR, maybe next year a zoom lens...???

Excellent pose - you must tell me your secret. Animals always seem to look the other way when I pick up my camera. The only buck that I enjoy photographing is the waterbuck - then I know what it is and I can't miss. LOL These rhinos don't seem to know if they are coming or going. Excellent shot!
