Description

Captured at the beautiful Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden, located on the north campus of Cal State University Long Beach in California. The photo was taken December 11, 2005. This is a better POV than displayed in yesterday's photo of the sea of manicured gravel surrounding an island of rock and grass. The maintenance personnel are most judicious about covering their footprints when raking the gravel. Thanks for dropping by, and have an unbelievably pleasant day!

This looks like a great place to step large and grab a meditation seat in the garden. Amazing how clean the gravel is kept. Lovely photo. And you have a good day yourself there!

Great capture! Is there any significance in the patterns created in the gravel?

I'm not sure about the pov being 'better',but I do think the exposure of this one is.I love the look of 'zen' gardens but I always have to laugh at them. They're a perfectionist's worst nightmare and dream-come-true all in one.'Zen' gardener:THE perfect occupation for those neat freaks that get overly excited seeing vacuum lines in their carpet,lol.Oops.I'm talking too much...forgive me-M ;^)

Oooh, I know this place! it's kinda like a oassis in reverse. It's the land of the koi, the dry area. It might be a stretch, but I see a koi head in the grass portion. I see a eye, and a mouth about 4 o clock, ooh, ooh ooh, is that a fin butting up against the rock??? Nice work goodoldboy, the paterns and colors are very soothing. Oooh is that another fin I see?? right by ....
