Description

Ultrafractal 3.02 - finished in UF 4.03 Here's another one that I'd thought of entering in the Flower Power themed challenge last month. It's something I started well over a year ago and just couldn't seem to "stick a fork in it" and so only came back to it recently. Still not sure it's "done" but this is close enough, I reckon. Might do some stuff to the background later....or not. lol The thin lined parallelogram texture pattern overlaid does cool stuff like a hologram image when viewed at a sharp angle on an lcd monitor. Neat surprise! I kinda got crossed up with it in that the thing started out to be a 2d looking, flat "painting" but then I - as usual - changed tack midstream and did some 3d-ish stuff. So that's whay the background is kinda "flat". Kinda works, though(?) I was messing with Babelfish to get a spiffy french name for an abstract sorta dada/impressionist thing I've been messing with so that's why the fancy French title to this one. :-) Thanks for stopping by, y'all! Rick ***(Fine art giclee' prints of most of my work are available in limited edition on archival paper or canvas - e-mail: drahcir3@hotmail.com and get busy filling that empty spot on the wall! Unique, "one-of-a-kind" (edition size = 1) prints are also available*** :-)

I think the flat background and 3D foreground work really well. It brings the flowers forward to catch the eye but the positioning of the flowers also leads the eye into the background. This has a painted feel too with the textured overlay. Works really well, you'd never know this had been created digitally. A very nice artwork and beautifully presented.

Nice work. Fascinating colors. The deep in the rainforest feel. I wonder of the overlaid texture could be 'irregularized' somehow?
