Description

Ultrafractal 3.02 - finished in UF 4.03 Here's another one that I'd thought of entering in the Flower Power themed challenge last month. It's something I started well over a year ago and just couldn't seem to "stick a fork in it" and so only came back to it recently. Still not sure it's "done" but this is close enough, I reckon. Might do some stuff to the background later....or not. lol The thin lined parallelogram texture pattern overlaid does cool stuff like a hologram image when viewed at a sharp angle on an lcd monitor. Neat surprise! I kinda got crossed up with it in that the thing started out to be a 2d looking, flat "painting" but then I - as usual - changed tack midstream and did some 3d-ish stuff. So that's whay the background is kinda "flat". Kinda works, though(?) I was messing with Babelfish to get a spiffy french name for an abstract sorta dada/impressionist thing I've been messing with so that's why the fancy French title to this one. :-) Thanks for stopping by, y'all! Rick ***(Fine art giclee' prints of most of my work are available in limited edition on archival paper or canvas - e-mail: drahcir3@hotmail.com and get busy filling that empty spot on the wall! Amazing that the large flowers to either side act as a frame (together with the close shape at the right corner) to force the eye into the background, so it's interesting that you are possibly still not satisfied with that central area. Cheeky for me to even add any thoughts, but perhaps playing with the balance of the lighting back there, and could you maybe differentiate between the angles of the texture pattern. The background lighting already has a slanted feeling so to harmonise with that might make for even more subtlety. Whatever you do - if anything - it will be important. Still, don't listen to me. You're the master. Your problem too , thank goodness!

"The thin lined parallelogram texture pattern overlaid does cool stuff like a hologram image when viewed at a sharp angle on an lcd monitor."...What? Were you doing a Stevie Wonder? I mean, I've heard of looking at your image in a mirror, looking at it upside down, etc., but this is just funky. If only you could get it to do that in a print!

Well I love it! I think this makes a very beautiful painterly fractal image! In fact it's surprising there are fractals in it at all IMO! It's more like some classical painting deep in a forest, done on canvas.
