Description

"Crossing the central reservation of my imagination Searching for a world that I`d left behind A shadow hunting shadows of childhood lies Its all I want & all I miss But how can I return to place that don`t exist!" Lyrics by Matt Johnson (The The) TFV&C W

Very cool, Love the surface shininess and colours/textures.. I recognize it to be a sine distorted noise combination or some distorted sine ? It could be a crocodile or snake skin piece of leather almost (to me anyhows). Full view is best yes.. Good job !!

Thx for the comments so far. @ Oct Yes its 2 sine values with various offsets & distortions added mixed by a min blend. What I like most is that fact that if you were to run your hand over the surface of it, you could almost feel every bump & it has that red leathery look to it. The lyrics was the music I was listening to at the time. Oh I should alo add that this a top own shot on a flat terrain. The method is just playing with what Efflux started off many months ago. Im finding that the method is producing some great results & has been used in my last 4/5 images posted. Oh Yes!!....Pretty damm slick Woz!!....Stunning texture/mats!!...I agree with Martin & Shaun it looks very reptillion....I've also done this kinda thing before but I tended to use the side of a primitive(usually a Cube)....not that one way is any better than the other (same result) but I often end up with a number of different cubes saved on one planet...quite handy to flit from one to the other....I'd like to see more of these kind of renders...Cool!!

hehhe....glad you like Jeff. The cube idea sounds cool, I think I`ll use that one in the future. the problem I have is I sometimes do things like the above...get the render & dont bother to save the file. I only posted it up as I wanted to boost my gallery with some more content perhaps to a better personal standard :)

Very cool work Woz. This is something I've always wanted to get into. Simply rendering views of cool textures because so much is possible without even actually creating a landscape.
