Description

Venlafaxine! Better known by the trade name Effexor and, since the original drug patent expired in August 2006 (in the US), it is also sold under the names Efexor (note: just one "f") and, I am not making this up, Vandral Retard. This little guy works as a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, just don't get mixed up with, say, SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors). This seemingly simple mistake would instantly alert others in the Reuptake Fan Community that you're not really a "Reuper," (also, don't call them "Reuppies"). This is *very* embarrassing, just trust me on that. I should say, don't start thinking that everyone has every side effect listed in the PDR, most of these are down in the 2% or less range. Going on and on about how your bone marrow problems are interfering with your akathisia, causing you to get dizzy and fall asleep while struggling to drink gallon of water in 20 seconds...well, that's not going to impress those Reupers either. Again, just trust me on this one. In fact, I just don't want to talk about it anymore. Also, I am having more dyskinesia, er, attacks, or symptoms, or something, I'm not sure what, but it involves dyskinesia somehow. And I'm thirsty. Also dizzy. And my bone marrow hurts. -------- This is indeed a render of an Effexor molecule, which I did in 2004 as part of a series of my favorite molecules. This representation is based on the simple chemical structure diagrams, and so is a lot flatter than the real molecule is in 3D. But my has a lot of reflections and stuff, so take that venlafaxine! The atoms are color coded (obviously) with blue for carbon, red for hydrogen, green for oxygen, and, as always, yellow for those pesky nitrogen atom. Oh, the render was made using Bryce 5.0.
