Oh it again an absolute fascinating photography about Cumberland! I would love to know what was going on here 100 years ago! It looks really like a ghost town! I^m not sure whether I would do a camping here during night! LOl Thanks again for this Cumberland photography series! Many thanks as well for the always so detailed explanation!

The image looks a bit blurry if you don't view it full size, so I encourage you to do so, thanks!

Your images conjure up thoughts of high contrasting past/present, beauty/neglect and stir the mind into action, something only a few captures really do. A great series reflecting our lives and society to a certain extent.

Very good sky to emphasize the sorry state of bulding. Very moody!

I guess the horses and ghosts are the only guests enjoying the place now...the cloudy day adds to the eerie mood of all these pics from there.

A gripping capture of a scene that has voodoo written all over it. There's gotta be a zombie or two somewhere. Good lighting effects, and love the foreground and rotting structures.

It doesn't take nature long at all to reclaim what is her's. Reminds me of the movie Logan's Run.

Spectacular. The foreground plants and the sudden height of the broken turret work well to carry the eyes around the pic. Super.

I once visited the Carneigie mansion in NYC with a friend. There was volumes about the philanthropic endeavors and frugal elegance of the family in contrast to the outrageous excesses of their peers! No mention was made of their decadent island playground! HMM! Go figure! Thanks for sharing. I suppose the great donation of the island back to Mother Nature qualifies to the philanthropy though. BJ
