Description

Ultrafractal 4.03 "...and so, at the approach of the Loc-Nar - the embodiment of all evil - the watchfires are set throughout the kingdom summoning from afar the Ta'rakkian warriors to perform their age-old honored duty to protect the peaceful inhabitants of the city. As the evil green mist that possesses the minds of all that it contacts approaches on the horizon, a far-off light heralds the appearance of Taarna, the last surviving Ta'rakkian who, alone, must do battle with the evil minions of the Loc-Nar..." Or something like that - lol. I've been messing around with a lot of the 3d array type formulas and .ucl's available for UF and created this fantasy scene using mostly the "3D Spheres" outside coloring in the mtz.ucl folder. 94 layers later...lol. One of my all-time favorite movies is the animated fantasy, "Heavy Metal" - a collection of animated vignettes based on stories from the WAY cool magazine by the same name. I really got off on reading Heavy Metal in college in the late '70's mostly for the awesome fantasy art in it. Well....ok....maybe just a LITTLE for the art featuring scantily clad female warriors. ;-) The story lines WERE cool, too! lol PS - if anyone who does Poser knows of a decent depiction of Taarna riding her flying...whatever that animal was, It'd be neat to plug her into this. Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year! Rick (BTW - ok, ok - for those who've seen the movie - I know the Loc-Nar was actually a GREEN orb but green just didn't go with the rest of the colors in the image too well. I've had this blue sphere and background tucked away for years waiting to do something with it and so everything else got built around it as a starting point.) ***(Fine art giclee' prints of most of my work are available in limited edition on archival paper or canvas - e-mail: drahcir3@hotmail.com and get busy filling that empty spot on the wall!*** :-)

94 layers!!! One day you'll have to supply a detailed examination of one of these mega jobs. Until then my computer purrs blissfully ignorant of the ordeals such knowledge can trigger. Me, I was a Sir James Jeans follower in those days of innocent youth. How knowledge has moved on since then or - in my case - speculative adventure turned into profound bafflement. Oh yes! Apologies for cuddling my uploading beside yours in the fractal gallery: time is no respecter of place.

I love the planet-like sphere in the upper right hand corner. I would enjoy seeing an image of it close up so I can view the colorful fractal details on a larger scale.

Whew! Just a few layers here. I love the blue sphere, the background cliffs, the orb in the upper right (amazing) and the light pillars! This is a heck of a landscape/cityscape and a great story. :)

Wow, there's a whole galaxy in there and all of it's brilliant. I can't believe this was done in UF - you're really a master of UF. This would be a 10, if there was such a rating.
