Description

"Fresh Wine, Tattered Skins" Who will know? Who can see? It's just a little problem. It's just a little challenge. Just a little sin. Who will know? Life can become a patchwork. A quilt. Trying to cover up the sin. Little pieces of cloth. Futile efforts. Small attempts to hide from view. Who will know? Tearing. Ripping. The pain of broken piecework. Fresh wine. Tattered skins. Bursting at the seams. Who will know? Who can see? Make me a new vessel Lord. Destroy the old. Shatter it. Burn it with fire. Remove the sin I offer to You. Make me new. You know. You see. Fill me. Stitch me anew. A white garment. Purified in Your blood. You see. You know. J.P. Wiegand ************ This is being posted in honor of a dear friend of mine, who went home to be with the Lord yesterday. I thought about writing something, but nothing would come out. I started looking through some of my previous writings and this popped out to me. My friend was an amazing man. He literally reflected the glory of God to those around him. He never judged or condemned, but by his gentle love and concern would place a desire in your heart to make a needed adjustment in your life. He showed that there was more to life than what this life offered. In my grief of losing this dear friend, I am reminded that it is but temporary. Bruce, thank you for your love, encouragement, and example. I will miss you on earth, but will rejoice with you in heaven. I love you. -j.p. (Note: the wine is pictured in humor: Bruce did not accept alcohol in his personal life.)

Good stuff. I raise my own glass of wine to you and your friend. Vaya Con Dios, hermano.
