Description

Proud and powerful Protecting and providing Facing the struggle Of life and death Together ... as a family. Perhaps the fact that lions are very social, living in prides as small as three or as big as forty, makes them more 'human' to me, especially the lionesses; the mothers, daughters, sisters, and grandmothers, who do most of the hunting and raise the cubs. Males protect the pride, their fierce roar projecting as far as five miles, but leave after two to four years, usually forced out by younger stronger males. Females stay with the pride for life. Well, I guess I won't be going to Africa anytime soon as I feel like I'm already there! =D I'm always compelled to study your work and try to discern what is what and how you do this amazing work, but in the end I just lie back and enjoy the entire experience and your clever and meaningful words! I can honestly say that nobody can portray the animal world and well or as intimately as you do, Carol! This is outstanding art all the way around! Absolutely superblery!!
