Description

Comet McNaught had me chewing my nails! Every evening our western skies at Leeudoringstad, South Africa had been covered under thick clouds allowing only for the very opportunistic like Andrid to sneak in a capture. I had my chance last night when the clouds opened up a small window... The quality may not be on standard, I really stretched my glass, lol.

Lucky! We've had too many clouds for me to really give it a go. I think you captured it quite well actually.

Excellent POV Piet! You have illustrated it well! It gives the viewer a sense of size. I am just so happy to see it. My previous comet viewing was nothing compared to this. It is a pity that our viewing time is so short. Well captured!

Very fortunate capture of the elusive fellow, indeed! Nice effect against the night sky. The Astronomy Picture of the Day website has been carrying wonderful photos taken by satellite and telescope of the visitor.
