Description

The Hanged Man is another Tarot image that many find disturbing. A man hangs upside-down by one foot, usually from a Tau or Ankh but sometimes by other means, his free leg bent at the knee to form an inverted numeral 4. Closer inspection reveals, however, that this is not an image of violence at all. The man usually appears happy or at peace. He has no visible wounds. The card is inspired by the story of the Norse god Odin who, in search of greater knowledge, agreed to sacrifice himself. He was hung in this manner from the Tree of the World until he attained enlightenment which came in the form of runes, fallen from the tree. The Hanged Man, therefore, is most often a card about knowledge and wisdom and not at all a harbinger of malicious intent, nor an omen of negative things to come.

Ha Ha ha ha ha...oh the hanged man he came up in my tarrot readings what a few times. My ex-husband was always the subject and voila he there almost everytime. Somehow though I dont think it was about him since you said it was a sense of wisdom. LOL Okay that was evil...Shannon ;]
