Description

The second key (but third card - The Fool is Atu 0), or Atu, in the Major Arcana is the High Priestess. The female counter to the (traditionally - mine is a female) male Magus (or Magician), she represents the lunar side of spiritual power and wisdom. Many versions of this card depict the Priestess seated on a throne with dark and light pillars on either side. Most have an image of the moon somewhere in the art. I chose a different route, sticking with a more nature-esque theme and letting the lunar qualities be more subtle (the white gown, the background darkness beneath the tree). This is a Wiccan high priestess and while drawing down the moon may be more appropriate for the card, I wanted my High Priestess to be about Life.

Wow, that tree is just awesome! You captured the incoming sunlight beautifully. And the density of the foliage is wonderful. Very ethereal and peaceful. I'm not into tarot, but it's a very beautiful image. You're very talented with composition and lights. :)
