Description

I am stuck at finding names for my pictures. Not wanting to call it just 4 chairs and so on. But this was a image that i created over the last day. every day I found something to tewak on it. Especially the light. The yafray render seemed a bit darker than the blender internal renderer. But i finally found out the exposure and gamma settings to get it brighter. I was also a bit afraid of the render times but that was a unfound worry. It only took less that 6 hours. Because I was asleep I don't know the exsact time it did render on. Maby it only took 1 hour for all I know. It got photons and stuff to create the caustics in the glass table. As you can see the caustics reflect on the floor to the ceiling. Set on max ao setting and 16 antialaising. I am happy for all comments on my work.

You always do such good work! I contiue to be impressed. TK' texturing tips of the day: Have you played with the "xrepeat" and "yrepeat" settings in the texture buttons, image panel? Try it on the floor and see if you like the result - raising only the "x" value will repeat your texture photo on the x coordinate and the boards will look narrower. There's another setting in the materials buttons on the far right under "map to." Click the "nor" button and move the "nor" slider up and down and try rendering at different settings. This setting "roughens up" your texture. Try that on the floor too, and see what you think. Does Yafray take longer to render than Blender's internal? I haven't tried it yet, for no particularly good reason.

this is a cool image, i realy like the chair materials. possibly it took such a long time due to halo lights, maybe a little less of them might make the picture a little more vissible.

Great image! I agree with the comments about the floor texture, and there's something weird about the shadow from the table, seems like it should be so dark in the corners? I really like the chair models, and the atmosphere looks good, it looks like a smoky lounge :)

I didn't applay the nor button. But I did fiddle with the x y repeat button. I was going for a smooth waxed floor feeling. And there is no halo lights in this pic by the way. About the shadows from the table. I really don't know about why it is like this. it is 3 normal lamps and 2 spots in this scene. and 2 photon lamps from within the spots. namely from the lamp in the roof and one to the right. The lamps on the wall got a coloured glass material with some colour band adjustments. Also the talbe lamp in the background is coloured glass.. All lamps are rendered with buffered shadows. Not many tweakings done on the buffered shadows though. To get the caustics I followed a tutorial about doing caustics in yafray. I really don't know why the lights from the wall seems like they go thrue smoke. Why I choose to use yafray? I wanted caustics. And hopefully its a better result than with internal renderer.
