I started Brycing in November of 2003 after being introduced to it through the owner of www.mulawa.net, Peter Hewitt. He created a set of tutorials and sent a group of us a book called Advanced Bryce Creations. His generoisity has led to many hours of joy for me as I create the images you will see in my gallery.
I was able to start Brycing because I no longer worked as a CAD drafter at the local foundry which lost most of its business to overseas businesses. My husband supports me for the time being but says when he retires, I get to go back to work so we have health insurance. We will see :D
Stats: Female, married, no children, brown hair, hazel eyes, glasses, drink Bacardi Limon and diet Pepsi(have since given this up...I still miss it, lol), love to golf, camp, play PC games and Bryce. I used to love to tend my garden so that's where my nick came from...Burpee Seeds.
Boring? Maybe but I'm happy :)

Quite and adventure I'd say. It's amazing what you can create when you just let things go.

Never say too much postwork. Well .. sometimes maybe, but not this time! Postwork is good, LOL! That's what often takes just a plain image (like your car) to something totally fantastic (like this image)!

sounds like you just had it with the 3D image tried to teach it a lesson and the image defied you by turning into a lovely and beautiful 2D thing... anything in your hands is going to look good.

I'd say it goes exactly as you have it. I enjoy experimenting with postwork, I've saved every single one of them. What I have learned to do is to keep a little book by my pc and write down the order of the filters that I used. One click and its gone forever, no two being the same! You begin to see your other work with a new eye. This is definately visually appealing, the colors, the movement is incredible. The underlying brush strokes giving a sense of speed. Blurred images as you whizz by. The circle in green looks to have the features of a little dog with its head out the window, almost winking at you as he speeds by. Makes me think of that song Lena Horne used to sing..."the wheels go 'round and 'round, whoaoo..and it comes out here!" A work d'art!! Hope your weekend is wonderful and warm. ~ Michelle~

2-D, for sure. We're such nice people here! :) And I love your car. The shiny green metallic bit in the middle is particularly eye catching, and I really like the way the different shapes interact. Glad you posted this. It's really a fun piece!

Excellent concept!

looks like you had a bunch of fun in this process!! very nice!

Sometimes I find it ironic that there are those who will never even consider opening up a modeler but will spend hours on postwork. I tend to keep it to a minimum I do less now that I have in the past.

The imagination exceeds the limits of any 'App': Your graphic is and a lot of fun to view. Art may be a photo, or it could be a stain on your sneakers, do it as long as it pleases you, and everyone that thinks it's c__p, will be buying it on 'e-bay' soon enough!

The whole trail of evidence is there to see, now you explain it. Wow, it's a long trail!

All the best artist use postwork in their arsenal and some I have seen, only use the paint program and end up with very 3D looking images...now I see some fish bones, so I think it is a Sushi Chef gone crazy ! kool abstract Nancy ! ~Cheers~

Superb end result, well worth the effort I would say. Here is fine for posting I guess, or Bryce or....It would look excellent wherever you posted it Nancy. Well done!

The exploding car...certainly different for you....nothing like experimenting and learning new techniques....

Ehy Nancy, the experiment is a part of every good artist, sometimes you need a long way to get some results, even if it seems more simple at a first view! This is different from your usual, but it always is an expression of one your feelings and i have to say....Fabolous artwork my friend!A really expressive and colored abstract!Congrats for postwork!I'm not very good with postwork,i still have to learn it!

In the beginning I did a lot of post work with my lightning. Thats because I did not know how to do it properly in DS. One can really see the bloody differers now. Post work is great as we can see on your experiment, which i really like by the way but it can terrible wrong as well I sometime fool around with distortion mirrors but I had never the courage to post it. You are definitely right that one can learn quiet a good deal by experimenting/playing with differed software. You may have to stop thinking "Car/past" instead try to look what is it "now/present" May a canvas piece of modern art, may an accident on the roundabout or a still life of a bowl of fruit. YES, that's it. Love it!!!!!!!

UTTERLY FABULOUS!!!!!! Love those colours ~ this really grabs your attention.

I hardly do any postwork myself - but that's mostly because I don't know how to :)Hard to tell this used to be a car, but beautiful anyway - and IMO it fits perfectly in the 2D gallery :)

Very nice image Nancy ... isn't it wonderful to jus' let go at times? Regarding post-work ... to me most initial 3D images are no more complete than a blocked-in painting. The image comes alive when detail and intention are applied during the post-work process. Jus' MHO. Well done!

Wow! Very cool~!!!

Nice car. Looks really fast! Bet it smells new too. :^D There's postwork and then there's PostWork. Like anything else it can be abused or a great asset. From smoothing rough edges to practically creating a whole painting, it depends on the artist whether or not it adds to or destroys an image. I think this is a cool abstraction. I'd call it 'New Car'. Hear hear to bringin a good point to light!

Beautiful abstract image. Once in a while, brilliant artists have serendipity during experiment with their artwork; I think even early masters like Da Vinci had that, too. . . This is a fabulous abstract composition!
