Description

The African Red-eyed Bulbul (Rooioogtiptol) is a real ordinary looking bird but so rich in its "vocabulary" of eloquant sounds - a real joy to have around. Its Afrikaans regional name is "bottergat" (butter ass) and I am sure you notice the reason for that.
More info, sound. For people interested in setting up their own bird feeders, a link I received from Shari.

AWWW, we had another kind of this bird (ook 'n tiptol) in the house when I was little. Saved him as a small bird and looked after him until grown. Then someone left a window open one day and he flew away. Such a sweet bird and reminder. Lovely captures too! Thanks for sharing, Oom! Hoop Oom het 'n fantastiese week. 8;o)

Your animal pix are great, but your bird pix are even better. We might see some of the animals at a zoo, but there's no way we would ever see these beautiful birds, except for your pictures. They seem to sit and pose as though they know and trust you.
