Description

This is a poem I wrote a long time ago in response to Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven" ----- Come hither young soul, and close the door, I'll tell you my story, the name's Lenore I'm forced to live beyond the earth and watch him suffer from his girth For on this side of death's great door The raven quoth "Forevermore" Forevermore must I wait watching my husband gaining weight For all his love he had for me went into books and drinking tea Forevermore must I grieve that I am the one that had to leave but then upon one famous night I dreamed him up a fatal fright A fright to surely knock him dead and unite us in eternal bed while he pondered o'er ancient lore I sent a raven to his door A raven quoting "Nevermore" But on this side of death's great door The raven quoth, "Forevermore"
