Description
Hey, have a pigeon!
Captured about 7:30 AM on 2/23/07, 1.25 miles from my residence.
Each morning a lady emerges from an Asian Indian temple on the boulevard and throws out breakfast pigeon feed on the ground to the avians hungrily waiting above on the power lines. That is the time for anyone standing below to seek instant cover because of the swooping shower of bodies and wings.
I may or may not have used a flash on this shot; if not then I was lucky to get it this sharp because those birdies are bobbing and moving and pigging out at warp speed.
Incidentally, the structure in the background looks very much like a giant carburetor filter.
Thanks for looking in, and enjoy what's left of this rapidly decreasing weekend!

we have all heard about sharks smelling blood in the water, and pirahnas stripping an ox to the bone, but this truly terrifying! no positive evidence of a flash being in use...depending on ambient vs. Fstop vs. distance...Look at that one flapping around looking for a spot to dive in on!
