Description

Hey y'all. Just me fooling around in photoshop some more. I've seem images of photoshopped geisha makeup, but it was "this one" that really (!) inspired me... I think it's just brilliant. (Insert two-thumbs-up smiley. ;^P) Soooooo, I thought I'd have a go at it myself and this was the result. To be honest, the original shot was not the greatest, but I think it still came out okay. I do like how it references 'old school' chiarascuro portraiture and yet has a modern feel. Anyway, I hope you will like it, too. As always, any words of advice and encouragement is most appreciated...as are all friendly hello's...I'm not picky...lol. ;^P Oh and thanx again for your comments on my last: thumb_1400969.jpg"Smile!" By the way, I edited it and animated it more... Now she literally 'smiles for the camera', and you see my flash. Just thought I'd pass that boring little piece of info onto you, lol. Hmmm...I say 'LOL' waaaay too much! ;^D Okie dokie. See ya round! Hope y'all have a wonderful week! -Marlene :^)

Wow... now that is pretty. It could be a book cover or something! The hair highlights are so stylish. The image of a modern and still innocent Geisha!

That smile animation is great, and Meg as a geisha is really phenomenal. I would have thought she was Japanese if I did not know better. Wonderful postwork, you've come a long way and it is nice to see you having fun! ;'P

Oooh! This is wicked cool Marlene! Im so flattered to have been of some kind inspiration for you. #:o) She really has some amazing geisha/manga qualities doesnt she? And you did an incredible job on it. I especially love the presentation with the chinese letters and symbols. That sun is the icing on the cake. Top notch work once again! I was going to say you got the Photo gallery instead of Poser one at view of thumb LOL. Really Marlene this is a wall hanging image for sure. You could make it out on some of that good photo paper then put the rice paper over it...you know how that is done.... Somethin like that. I think thats what you should do. Oh the Japanese writing makes it too. Good on ya!!!

Wow Marlene, I think there's a slow boat to China passing by, that I forgot to jump on to! LOL! I was very impressed with Andreas version, so artfully done and beautifully composed, and then you show us your hand at a similar concept, which is bursting full of manga qualities. I especially love the interplay of light & shadow, as well as the rich haunting colors, very dramatic!!! The warm colors really draw you into the piece. You really out did yourself on this one. In Andreas as well as yours, you both chose Chinese kanji, I was hoping to read what you added to the image, but I only read Japanese, some kanji's are similar but mostly different. Excellent creation!!!!!*****
