Description

ArtRage / Wacom I have some friends who are wonderful musicians. This weekend they wrote a song called "I Remember," and posted it to their website last night. Today when I got home I listened to it about 20 times in a row while I painted this picture. It was a pretty wonderful experience! I started laying down the color, and played and painted and played, and at some point it all started to come together, and then suddenly it was done. If you'd like to hear what I was listening to when I did this, go to: www.kirstencook.com I believe you can also find it at: www.bnkc.com Thanks to jillianelf for helpful pointers in using ArtRage! Hopefully you will only see her influence in this piece, and not something that copies her style! :) Thank you, Darlin', for all your help!

That's a cool music site though it took a while to load. Haunting words. Love the lovely flow of vibrant colors here :)

Tara, I always wanted to go back in your gallery hoping to find some of your 2D art, and i've found a whole lot of it. I see much of it is digital, but it's painting (some of the best painters on this site are wholly digital) and I am drawn in by every one. It's probably strange for you to read a comment on something from 2 years ago, but I think this is quite beautiful. Your range of hues within the violet/purple family, and the strands, textures and movement are both subtle and very engaging. I mean engaging as in engaging me immediately & at the core. I've used artrage & gotten maybe a passing image or two, but you've produced a subtle swirl of many veils & layers, and it's the kind of work I would look at repeatedly & travel its passageways and feel how many world you reveal here. I think this is beautiful, and I'll come back to these halls again. (2007 was just yesterday, but in gallery terms the wheel had just been invented!) Lovely & complex. A fav.
