Description
These early-blooming tulips are pink on the outside when closed. They grow on short stems and open flat, earning them the nickname "Waterlily Tulip" because of their low, spreading appearance.
Their proper name is tulipa kaufmanniana 'ancilla' and it is said they grow wild in the Tien Shan mountains.
Pretty exotic, huh? I found them growing in a pot in my neighbor's driveway.
