I dont think of myself as an artist - more a creatively minded laymen. Im blessed with perpetual inspiration, but cursed by a lack of talent.
I have always loved to sketch, and on the odd occasion even paint. Unfortunately for me, a real world canvas doesnt have an undo button. This is why, back in 1996, I first started toying with a Shareware version of Paint Shop Pro (found on the cover of a magazine). I knew almost instantly that digital art was for me.
Fast forward to 2006, when I discovered a highly under-rated (yet unfortunately limited) program called FaceGen. Within hours of tinkering with the software I was creating realistic characters well beyond anything I could have managed via traditional mediums. But what to do about bodies for my newly created digital brethren?
I took it upon myself to scour the internet in search of a 3D software package that was flexible enough to fulfil my specific needs, while still being NOOB friendly. Untimely I didnt want to spend months, or even years deciphering the ins and outs of 3D Studio Max for instance.
It wasnt long before I caught digital whisperings of a program called Poser, which lead me eFrontiers very own site.
In search of more examples of Poser art I found myself inevitably at Renderosity...and I havent looked back since.
The community here is certainly a mixed bunch (as are all communities, online especially), but in the great majority they have proven to be incredibly helpful, and wonderfully supportive.
If you plan on commenting on my images (and I certainely hope you do) while praise is always appreciated, critical analysis and constructive criticism is encouraged.
Happy rendering!

very funny fellow and excellent work. I loaded Apollo in P7 but have not saved anything yet for render

Pretty kool. very nice.

Clawshrimp - Great manipulation, check out the thumb area, though. There's a bulge as if the thumb hasn't been adjusted to the hand size.
DCArt
The calves are a bit hefty and choppy, and I agree about the thumb bulge. But other than that it's a great character and proves the versatility of Apollo!
zollster
he looks too sweet! give him some "grrrr!!" :D
SoCalRoberta
The face is great :)
ClawShrimp
Thanks Kalon. I don't know how I missed those thumbs! Having another set of eyes go over your work really does help! This is the kind of stuff I love hearing in the gallery. Truly constructive (and useful) advice. Don't worry Zollster, I'll give him some 'grrrr' with my next upload. While I was going for a gentle giant here, his angular bone structure is such that angry expressions work really well. Thank you everyone else for your comments.

Looks great so far, the only thing I would have pointed out was the calf muscles but you already noted that yourself.

got an idea... This is your new avatar... your name is clawshrimp... He could be a shrimp... put a claw on his left arm and maybe fold his arms together and put your name under it and reupload your avatar... Just a thought, I'm into logos.
Greywolf Starkiller
A er...handsome fellow. :) Nice job. Don't need to rehash the problems as people already mentioned those.
ClawShrimp
Haha! Thanks Mikeerson, I'll think about it.

Ooooohhh creepy Yeh the thighs definately a little too square, & maybe also the abdo. Very cool looking character though.
Bea
He is going to be an interesting person when finished. I agree with the comments already made :)

Uug, uug! I've just been so busty with my pet project to remap Posette, that I haven't had time to keep up with my comments. Although I can only spare this a very quick glace, it looks to be a very good render. DO keep up the good work. David P. Hoadley

Very nice work! Z-brush? I'm seeing a little angularity on the left side (our right) of his belly, in addition to others already mentioned. I really like the character. He does look very gentle and sympathetic in this render, so it'll be interesting to see him with some OOMPH!
Anasta
Oh he is just great! I agree that the legs and the area on the hands needs work but thats already been noted. I'm already itching to paint some troll-like hair on his head and a club in one hand and maybe some hair in the other hand thats attached to a Sydney or Vicki being pulled along the ground... (ok enough visualizing LOL) Fantastic work and can't wait to see the finished product! :D cheers!
ClawShrimp
dphoadley - Your time and comments are always appreciated. Keep up the great work on Posette. karen1573 - No Zbrush at all on this one. This was achieved using standard Apollo morphs. He's such an incredibly versatile figure! Go and get him!!! :) Anasta - I love your ideas! It makes me want to get this morph finished more quickly. I'll post another render tonight of the updated Ogre. Hopefully my 'fixing' things hasn't created more problems. :P
Tiari
Holy............. lol sexy is not a word that comes to mind, though its an awesome ogre. Nice work on the morphs

Brillian work on it so far. Certainly shows the versatility of Apollo! Can't wait to see more of it.
Acadia
Wow, I must say that Apollo comes in all shapes and sizes and he does the transformation very well.

Adorable but his ears are so tiny...Beef those ears up lol!
