Description

Not being the ornothologiest type i have no idea what this (seemingly quite common looking) bird is, i probably couldt tell a seagull from an albatross! I'm guessing at a finch of some sort... anyway - it was on top of this wall chirping away happily in the middle of Edinburgh, i even had time to switch to my 105mm to take this shot! And yes - a polariser was used ;) Enjoy! Rich

I'm with you Rich - no idea what it is other than a bird!!! I can just about tell a seagull from a pigeon and maybe a robin, but that's it!! I do however love bird photography and I really like this shot. The colours are stunning - from the reddish brown of the bird's feathers to the rich deep blue of the sky. I'm guessing 105mm is a good telephoto type lens then? But at least this little fella gave you the opportunity to get the correct lens on and gave you a better pose than some paid models would have!! Great capture. xx

Nice post/image Rich! I really do like the pov and the multi colours in this picture! I just don't know why the lower part is blurred or out of focus.. I guess you used a single spot that far left of the stone won't be as sharp eh! But again you might wanted the result just as is.. Nice idea to embed your copyrights on the upper left without distracting the eye of the viewer tho.. And i bet that not many of us will see it :D Thank you again and have a wonderful weekend... Oh! I like your contest entry! Keep it up please JOE

the polariser explains the deep rich blue - awesome colour, it's the first thing that struck me and then the compo. All in all well shot. Hee Hee I wouldn't know the name either, but would know a seagull from an albatros :D
