Description

I reworked the pose to make it more interesting, and added shadows. Again, I'm aiming at a mid-century National Geographic sort of look.

Like this better than the first. Is there a morph to give the cloth some life. As it is, it looks so stiff and hard the bull would break its neck when it ran into it. The shadow really places the character in the scene. Good job.

Nice concept and you have strong elements here. His pose, though, is a little stiff, he needs more contrapposto. The shadow on the ground is very intense, but I'd like to see more shadowing in his face, in his clothing and the folds on his flag. I believe that's a lighting issue during rendering. But his features seem washed out and that may be a result of greyscaling in Photoshop, you may be losing detail there.

I agree with the stiffness. I couldn't tell you exactly what though, however, from my visuals of matadors they tend to have more "passionate" body positions.

I like how you have done this in B&W, gives a nice 'photo' impression to the piccie. I agree with the others in regards to the stiffness of the subject, also the position of his left hand holding the cape doesn't look natural to me.

reminds me of the old movie, "Blood and Sand".

Like the shadow--big improvement there. I like the slightly haughty expression. Trying to think of what it is about the pose that seems off to some people -- I think it may have to do with the way we usually see a matador -- from the side. He usually turns his body dramatically as he works with a bull. In my minds eye I see him turned to the side with swept arms, his head tilted back slightly and looking down at the camera.

I have it! His pose reminds me of a gunfighter from the American Old West. Not sure as I don't know matadors, but shouldn't the sword be up higher, you know, to avoid cape and sword getting tangle up? There is a BADASS bull out there who seriously WANTS your ass, the last thing you want to have happen is your defences getting tangled. Expression is right on. "MAKE. MY. DAY." :)

The depth of field effect is pretty intense for me, although there's nothing wrong with it, you could actually get a camera to focus that way if you wanted to. If you want a little twist on the red cape and there aren't any morphs built in, you could put a couple of magnets to it and give it a nice little wind flap :) Nice job with that shadow, really looks good.
