My name? Eric den Biesen, a Canadian of Dutch ancestry. I'm 46 years young, though I sometimes feel MUCH older. I generally like to model in trueSpace, though I'm learning Carrara and Hexagon as well. Not much free time for it, so anything I'm building progresses REAL slowly. :( I like to illustrate my tales of the Imperium with Poser and/or Bryce, or that story's prequel, Siren's Song, the story of the Human/Mer first Contact. Neither story is more than outline, and bits are told through the pics I do. And because it's fun, of course. :)

Great mage! I love the lighting and the textures. I gues my only coments are, Where bot of their hands meet their hip, it doesn't quite look like they're on the hip. Maybe some AO will get you some shadows there. Also the focus. The girl on the left is looking directly into the camera, while the girl on the right is looking off somewhere else. It's almost like one is posing for a picture and the other is continuing a conversation with the photographer's friend. (did that make sense?) Anyway.. just nit picky things there. Excelent job there! Thankks for sharing it. R

The funny part is that I have ambient occlusion active, but for some reason, the hands aren't casting shadows. The main light is set to do so, AO is active for every object in the scene. Any ideas?

Cool pic, love the textures... very....DOOM2. Ok, the girl on the left, our favorite vampire, yup she's a vampire and she has very pale skin... but she looks 'real'. The set looks 'real' The girl on the left though... the skin texture doesn't look as 'real',. Hope that makes sense. But everything else, lighting, pose, mood etc is spot on.

Very good setup and poses. I agree with lemur01 that the girl on the right doesnt look as real. I think it's due to her too soft face and skin, too perfect. It doesnt match with the roughness of the outfit and environment, I think. Anyway, I do like the picture.

I forgot to do the SSS on Vik. :( It's still a new, and realistic, method to me. I shall correct that in the last version. :)

Nice picture, good characters. You remember me that I wanted to get "Shadow Dancer" too, but did not manage to get it up to now.

You might want to reset the settings of AO. It's finiky to get right. Pretty good. The girl on the left has a funny shadow across her face? Or something. The poses or attitude of them seem really 'posed'. They aren't interacting. It could be more dramatic, or show more personality if they didn't look so...'Deer in the headlight' looking or something. It's a perfectly good picture. It's just it could be GREAT with a little work,
Bea
Love the shadows and the lighting but I do agree that it would help if they were looking at something in particular and also about the skin texture of the girl on the right :) But a great idea for an image :)

Camilla I already liked pretty well from previous, although I think the grey/black camo pattern goes really well with her and is a good change. For your Vik character, her eyes are not quite pointed the same way - the left eye is nearly straight ahead, the right eye is looking off to her left. If you are using PointAt with the eyes, you might want to consider just manually posing them. Some AO on her pants would be a good change as well to catch some shadow underneath her hand, or you could postwork that in if you prefer. Her hair is clipping into her neck a little bit also. There's a tiny little bit of clipping gong on around Camilla's knife rig on the right boot (point and strap), small enough you could just smudge it or something and nobody would notice. Really nice job getting the feet so perfectly on the floor, and very comfortable, relaxed posing overall.

Crap! I forgot about the Hair in the revised render! SIGH. Back to the drawing board. :) Yeh, I use 'Point At', and for the eyes at least, it's crap. Cami looks right, but for some reason, Vik doesn't. You're right. I'll need to do it manually. :(

Cool image, all issues I noticed have been mentioned.

Yep, Cool is the word. Any other comments have been made already, good work!

I do like it, but agree with the vic figure, the skin tone for the lighting seems really orangy. It might be the texture itself, but due to the muted colors in the rest of the image it doesnt seem to quite "go".
DapperMan
Well posed and nicely grungy. I agree that V4 doesn't fit as well because she almost has a glow to her skin compared to the other girl, and compared to the color of the environment. As a very personal statement/preference, long nails such as those would not last long on an action heroine, unless they are retractable, or made of a high-strength alloy (or both!). :)

very nice
