Description

- Two wannabe Garth-riders are returning to their residence at the Dalborg Castle. They are bringing a "prize capture" with them, a young female Garth. "I think the passage is right over there" the girl says, "it's definitely too steep a climb down from here..." "Yes, let's get over there" the guy replies, " I can't wait to come back and show them what we've got." The girl:"She's such a trusting and devoted creature. I think she's got real potential!" The guy: "It's funny that they are so easily domesticated, and yet it's is so difficult to get them to accept to carry ANYTHING on their back. But she'll be in good hands down there..." Girl: "Yes, Master Krillian has such a touch with them. We'll soon be riding her. Now, let's get home..." ******************* One of the more complicated scenes I've made. In the final stages my computer was really down to its knees, Vue was very sluggish, but, only one crash, after a preliminary saving Vue went cold. No problems with the render, though. Toolbox: Vue 5 Infinite, Poser, Onyxtree, G3D "Twig 10" and "Grass 10" (freeware) and Photoshop CS. A little postwork on the Poser exports, and a lot of tweaking with colours and levels etc. The "Garth creature" is the CP Indricotherium with some "hairs" made with G3D "Grass" and a modified bump-map. Castle (barely visible) by "rodluc2000" - a big thanks. Some 1.5 hrs render, "Broadcast" with global ambience. Thanks for viewing, and for any comments you may leave, they are very much appreciated. The included story may not be too original, feel free to make up your own :) Have a nice day - Lars

Very good scene. Very well composed. I like this a lot. One thing I would maybe try would be to render in GI, instead of GA, I think the background, those far mountains, could look better. Another thing is that the castle is barely visible. I also think to make it more visible would benefit the scene. I do know very well that feeling of bringing Vue down to its knees, it happens to me all the time! :-) To minimize this, I use a lot of layers, hidden almost all the time, just made visible when needed, I find it very useful. And as soon as I hide a layer, I purge the memory. This helps to keep the memory in good shape.
