Splashing water on him, keep his skin wet and bring him down to safety. Cover his face/head with some hat while I am dragging him down. Hope this is just a safety test and not something happened up there.!! Great shot, a hot lava overtake a cooled down layers.

I surely hope that is not what you had to do! (or your partner) ... Pull/drag/remove from the area, give lots of liquid and tend to any burns asap. Hopefully you have a phone handy to call for help. shivvers

Like the others I am wondering if this has happened to you. Carry the person to a nearby cooler spot, splash with water on face and pulse spots to cool down, call for help, hydrate when the person is able to swallow. Unfortunately I once had the experience of having tens of people overcome with heat in a crowd of thousands of people waiting in line to get their tickets to Opryland (where I was working in Guest Relations at the front gate) one very hot humid summer morning... Scary.

Water - on body and in body - cool rag on face and get them moving! And never take them back to the lava again... Nice shot.

Sounds like the experts have it covered by now, and some viewers will have learned something. I assume you have a story to tell us. Love the reflection on the left side of this one.

Carry him a safe distance away from the lava, lay him down, feet up, and try to cool him off as MrsLubner and others indicated. Another super lava capture my friend.

I'd think getting him away would be the most important part since you wouldn't know if it was just exhaustion or fumes that were responsible. After getting safely away you could worry about checking on hydration and other issues. Wonderful photo! :)

I would BBQ him before that LAVA would melt him! :))) Yes, hope that didn't happen my friend.. Hummm.. lets see here, i agree with the others of course, but... I don't think places like this were made so regular people can visit! I meant (None Pros) sigh! I am not sure how it works there, but it took us for ever to goto that similar place in Japan back in the days.. If that person got some burns, i assume you carry a very good quantity of "ZINC" on you?! That will cool any burns, sometimes even upto third degrees till you reach the nearest hospital! Again, be careful guys.. This is ain't funny! I know you and your son are! But who knows about the others?? No one knows, sigh! Thank you and have a nice day/night JOE

Errol, I would do all the things that our other friends have suggested. If this did happen to you this is what I think.. You will have done all the right things. You know what you are about on these lava field. You would not go there if you did not know what to do in such an unfortunate happening. Great shot and stay safe, always.. please. Aloha. Diane.

Well, we had better be on excellent terms with each other, or...... If we was a good friend, or relative, I would do exactly as MrsLubner suggests. In any event, another masterful capture of the lava, and I'm still impressed how the cooled lava so resembles prunes or black leaves.

make sure you had barbecue sauce? hope you do not have such a scenario. if the person was a great deal larger than yourself then it would be a problem trying to move them to a safer spot. I do not know--call McGarret?

Oooh, that would be a scary deal! I agree with what others have said about moving and cooling the person. Otherwise, that would be a terrible ordeal to go through, I think. Hope this didn't really happen, either.

Hopefully this scenerio doesn't occur, but it has a high probability if you are not use to this type of hike in these conditions. Staying with them and caring for their needs is all you can do till help arrives....you are a least 1 hour away from help at this stage...great shot~ Aloha~
