Description

This Sculpture on the Mountain is near Mount Rushmore. It was started in 1948. The size is massive. You could fit all four President's at Mount Rushmore in the head of Crazy Horse. After nearly 60 years, this is where it stands today. I took this picture from the Museum area which is probably a good 1/4 mile from the Mountain. The sculpture in the foreground is how the Mountain will eventually look.

cool photograph!...a great sculptural effort for sure.. unfortunately, I believe the figurative aesthetic and artistic quality of the sculpture to be amateur, at best.

I was up that way in 1990 and took a pic of Crazy Horse, too. The shape was there, but they had the his face and horse outlined in paint. They've made considerable progress! Cool POV and capture, Steve!
