Thought provoking image. Things are definately hotting up here but most scientists seem to be split between the cause being a link with man made CO2 or could it just be a natural event (natural climate change) related to sun activity. Not sure what to believe.

Jocko, very nice marsh photograph! Your writeup on Earthday is sure to make folks thiunk and fell and maybe be a little kinder to the Earth, now if only governments would do the same, be kind to the Earth and to the people! If only there was enough natural marshland between New Orleans and the ocean, hurricane storm surges would be weakened greatly before they got there and do much less damage. As my daughter reminds me, "Nature bats last."

Nature has its own way off achieving balance. If you do one thing,it always affects something else.

Earth changes, it goes through cycles, and I think we may be in a warming cycle. It may or may not have to do with what we are doing to the earth. One day, Earth will get tired of all the parasites living on it, and will shake itself like a great big dog with fleas, to rid itself of the pests. I have never seen these marshes .. this is an awesome photo!

Superb composition. I believe the Native Americans have the right ideas about the Earth. Unfortunately, they are far in the minority and so are their beliefs.

Beautiful.

Jock is right. We need the salt marshes and wetlands for the wildlife and to protect our coastline. The marsh absorbes storm surges from hurricanes. One of the reasons the Corps of Engineers started working on the Mississppi River 120 years ago was to make sure the river didn't change course so Baton Rouge and New Orleans would be port cities. The fear was that the river was changing course and some day would flow out into the Atchafalya swamp. Anyway, it's a wonderful view of natural Louisiana!

Global warming is not new, but it is a new means of extortion to make us pay more for services that we do not require to combat it. In a nutshell...show me an honest politician and I will show you the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow....never!! Your image is excellent Jock and a great medium for debate. Well done
