Description

This is the 2nd in my trilogy "I bring my world with me". If you didnt see the 1st picture, I ask you to please see it, in my gallery, to better understand this one. And also please read my intentions there, where I'm going with this. Here's the link: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1425429 I wanted the 2nd pic to be the opposite of the 1st. Initially, for the 2nd pic I thought of a swamp. Here's a test render: http://img382.imageshack.us/img382/3601/abutre004il5.jpg But it didnt fulfil my intentions, which were: I also wanted the two pictures to form a perfect pair, a perfect paralell. This trilogy is about immigration, as you know. And I wanted to show that any two countries are, at the same time, very different and very equal. In the details, they're very different. But, in the overall, they're very similar. In both there's similar people, with similar desires, similar fears... So, these two pics are my two "countries". The details in each are very different. But, if you compare the two pics, you'll see that they are almost equal. We have the same mountain, the same "cylinder" with the "world" of the immigrant, in similar positions, with similar desires (only the food tastes different!). I even tried to make roughly similar waves in sand and in the water (look in the background in the left for example, and in the center). In this pic, the sun has an opposite orientation from the 1st. In the 1st, the sun was facing the gull, in the 2nd it's on the back of the vulture. Symbol is past and future: sun was vulture's past but gull's future. To make this 2nd pic I just took the 1st and changed all materials by their "opposites". Then I replaced all characters. I changed the atmosphere, added clouds, changed the sun position. Tomorrow I will post one single picture with the two images back to back, to better see the differences and similarities. Thanks for watching!

I really love the idea. Great work. Love your water. Looks fantastic. Only the little island. I dont know, but i think whit a another texture it would look better. But this is just me. ;)

I might have tossed some flying gulls in the sky to show a little life around the island and make it more natural looking. Other than that, it looks wonderous. I love unique visions.

Great series. Very imaginative. The orientation of the water seems to be rotated more towards us from a slight birds eye view by the x axis. Perhaps if you do the same with the island and the sandbar, again rotate slightly toward us with the xRotate it would pull it all together. Just the same, a fantastic idea and picture.

Great work Artur. I hadn't seen the first image so thank you for providing a link. You have obviously put a lot of thought and care into these two images. I very much look forward to seeing the third in the trilogy.

This is going realy great! I was studying it like its the bible, and in need of interpratation :) No critical comments from me. Just wondering, if the cactus is now on the island, shouldnt the pole be somewhere? perhaps a must of a (sinking) ship in the sea (in the place where the cactus used to be)? This is so much fun! Thank you.

In seeing the two images the one thing that strikes me is that in the Gull picture, he is not fully integrated into his new society... thw water seems above the land. But the vulture is more assimilated. Most of his sandbank seems under the water. Vivid and imaginative image.

Nice work. I like how you even put a sandy rock strata texture on the island chunk. I'm not sure I like the foamy waves effect as much as the wavy sand from the previous pic, but being unfamiliar with Vue I can't suggest anything. The stormy/sunny atmosphere reminds me of the weird weather we just had where it was raining heavily, but a break in the clouds still let the sun shine strongly down. Good work here.
